To advertise an upcoming art exhibition at the McLean County Arts Center, I created an animation to be used for projection mapping. The client asked for a projection that could be displayed on the main window of the Arts Center. For this project to be effective on a large-scale, I focused on placing heavy emphasis on structure, viewer legibility, and hierarchy for optimal clarity. With this animation, the client hoped to bolster public interest in the Arts Center and the work of local artists it housed. With this in mind, I designed a composition consisting of a few pieces of collaged details from the feature artist’s work and placed them into a dynamic looping animation. I structured this layout to evoke the style of this artist’s paintings with bright, dynamic color palettes and blocky imagery to give viewers an enticing taste of what they could find within the Art Center.
